ABOUT Alice:

Meet me:

My name is Alice. I am MoscaStudio and your point of contact. Hello!

I am an open book and always look forward to getting to know new and wonderful people from all walks of life. My story begins on March 8th, 1978 in Rome and Indonesia. I was born in Rome, Italy (I am an Italian citizen) but spent the first 7 years of my life in Jakarta Indonesia. Because I was raised all around the world (Italy, Japan, Venezuela and the United States) and am in awe of the customs and traditions of new cultures. Photographing street scenes and the people within them, shaped me to become a people-photographer. Weddings are about people (people in love), so in 2003 I created my studio. I am inspired by all, to this day.

I’ll also share that I am fluent in Italian, Spanish and English and that I have made it my mission to collect airline miles (Travel is my middle name). Since I am a traveling international wedding photographer, I get to see and meet new and exciting places and people that inspire my mind and soul. My base inside of the United States is in the Miami area (West Palm Beach, Florida) where summers are endless. My base outside of the United States is Rome Italy, where I am able to photograph beautifully elegant Italian affairs. Some of my destination weddings have been in the beautiful countries of Mexico, Panama, Italy and Greece, while US based weddings have taken me to beautiful states such as Hawaii, Arizona, Colorado, Oregon, Washington, South Carolina and Maryland. When I am not photographing weddings, I take groups of intrepid culinary-curious travelers to Italy on my all-inclusive DivoraDestinations food and wine tours.

World cultures, customs and history, inspire me to adapt to situations, and to create my style of photography, I am constantly inspired by the world and I hope my art speaks to you as well <3

Q & A

Alice in Parco Degli Acquedotti, Rome, Italy

Who are you as a person? What moves you?

I am often asked this and I love it! I was born in Rome (Italy) and I have had the pleasure of living in many countries around the world (thanks to my parents’ line of work as diplomats for the Italian Embassy). Due to this, I speak 4 languages and cannot live without diversity around me. I love all people and all cultures and I push for love stories from all over the world. I went to school for Anthropology/Archaeology which is the study of present and past peoples, their ways of life, their traditions and their culture. Due to this worldwide experience, I have always loved photographing people and cultures, and have always loved traveling. Who doesn’t, right? :) What moves me is seeing people from all walks of life marrying their best friend, seeing people reunite for special occasions to celebrate something as important as a wedding, being present in that moment so I may create images that document it all. Besides the fact that my line of work moves me… I personally love sunshine, summertime, dramatic coastlines, the Mediterranean Sea, rare and beautiful trees, doggies, taking groups of people back to my country of Italy for culinary experience (see: DivoraDestinations.com) and meeting new people along the way. I love love and I love beauty and I love romance and I love sunsets… I love fashion and interior design, I love the colors green (emerald/sage/olive) and gold (bronze, muted yellows)… basically the colors of Italy :) That’s me in a nutshell! I can’t wait to meet YOU!

How long have you been photographing weddings?

I began my wedding photography career (full time) in 2003 in the little town of Stevenson Washington (Columbia Gorge). Photography at that time was purely on film! Rolls of film were used to create memories for the first handful of years… I’m a bit nostalgic of it! :) Then, when digital cameras came to play (and couples began wanting instant processing and viewing of images), I took the plunge and began the digital version of wedding photography. Little by little, digital camera became of the highest standards, producing stunning images. Since 2003 I have had the pleasure of photographing couples from all walks of life, in and around Oregon and Washington at first, and then in beautiful destinations such as Hawaii, then internationally such as Mexico and, of course, Italy (where I am from). Weddings big and slam, of all cultures, have come my way, and I am grateful. Weddings in candlelight, weddings in pure sunlight, weddings in the snow and weddings in the deserts. Weddings in ballrooms and weddings in castles. Each of them unique and meaningful and genuinely pure and filled with love. As of 2022, I have around 1200 weddings under my belt and I can’t wait for more! :)

What is your approach? Your style?

I am completely transparent when it comes to showing my style to you in my online portfolio. What you see when you roam around this website and my Instagram feed, is what I create. My images are real, unprocessed with filters that are so trendy they became obsolete after a few years. I like to create images that reflect my background in film photography, where what I see is what I photograph, with little to no editing. Some images are black and while, but most reflect the true colors and sparkle of the event. What I am proud of is the timelessness of the images, the fact that when you and your children and your grandchildren see the images, they will relate to them as if they were created in their lifetime, and not “back then” with temporary filter trends. There is nothing wrong with wanting to follow the current style of editing (dark and moody or light and airy, to name a few) but it is not me, it is not what I offer you. I offer you… YOU as real as you are. Images that stand the tests of time, that recount your memories as romantically and true as your wedding day was. I like classic beauty, romance, warmth, sharp, real documentary style images, capturing the beauty of you AND the places and people that surround you. A true documentary of your day.

What equipment do you use?

Top of the line Nikon cameras and lenses. I have always been a Nikon-baby and find myself absolutely at ease with my equipment. The arsenal of lenses and flash I use vary from wine angle to super zoom, each with its own purpose depending on place and circumstance. Not always do I need to zoom at 200mm, and not always do I need to use a wide 24mm approach either. you will see me with two cameras in hand, with two different lenses at hand at any one time, so that I can switch from one look to the other, as needed. My shoulders and elbow and hand are exhausted after every wedding! But no pain, no gain ;)

What do you charge and why?

The starting price for my photography is around $4,000. Most of my couples customize their package to fit their own needs (with my guidance of course) ending up spending around $7,000 with lots included (such as rehearsal party, engagement session, travel, album, etc… included). Each couple will have specific needs and wants, and I am always open to making a photography package as custom and unique to each couple as I can. I always as about wedding details, location, timeline, traditions, number of guests and in the bridal party, what is most important to the couple, etc… Once I know more about the wedding day, I am able to suggest the most perfect coverage. You are not only paying for me to click the shutter on my cameras, you are paying for my 20+ years of professional experience, my various consultations to help you narrow what is truly needed for photography, my actual time photographing you and yours, my post processing time and all that comes with it (editing, uploading online, gallery hosting, emails back and fourth with you and yours, image archiving after the gallery goes offline - I never ever delete images, you will always have access to them years later should you need them). With me, you don’t have to worry one bit about having to micromanage the photography portion of your day. You are hiring an absolute expert, one that is dedicated, able, creative, respectful and friendly… we become friends over the years! I get to see my couples marry and then grow a family, which is so special to me, as I am often the one to photograph that next milestone :) You invest in me and I immortalize you <3
